The STRO application period for Tier 3 and 4 closed on Nov. 30. The city’s STRO website has been updated to explain that the lottery for Tier 3 will not occur. This is due to the number of tier 3 applications being below the allowed cap. A lottery will be conducted for Tier 4 only. Tier 3 applications will reopen again presumably to allow more applications up to the cap although the date has not yet been announced.
The city’s website goes on to say that Tier 3 hosts who have applied for a license will receive an email on Friday, Dec. 16 with a link to pay the required license fee. Once the $1,000 license fee has been paid, hosts will receive their Tier 3 license via email.
A lottery will be held for Tier 4 licenses as the number of applications received exceeded the cap. Any host with a pending enforcement action will not be issued a license. Tier 4 hosts selected in the lottery to receive a license will be notified by Friday, Dec. 16.
Hosts will have until Friday, Jan. 6 to pay the $1,000 fee for both Tier 3 and 4 licenses. If the fee has not been paid by the deadline, the license will be canceled.
