The City of San Diego is now now accepting STR lottery applications. The newly adopted short-term rental ordinance requires a license for all short-term rentals of a dwelling unite, or part thereof, for less than one month within the City of San Diego.

SDSTRA Update
SDSTRA has been in contact with the City’s STRO department. The City has confirmed that they are working on the following updates to the process:
- Only one TOT license is currently being accepted per property. The city will modify this so one TOT license can be used to apply for multiple properties.
- Those having a hard time getting the system to recognize their APN should remove the last two 00’s if their APN ends in a double 0.
Tier 2 Licensees
SDSTRA suggests that Tier 2 licensees wait until next year to expand their 2-year renewal window.
