The City of San Diego recently updated their STRO webpage with additional information and resources in preparation for the application process which is set to be implemented this fall.

Updates include:

  • Information pertaining to City Council’s approval of the California Coastal Commission recommended Ordinance modifications.
  • Maps showing whether a property falls within the City of San Diego & which Community Planning Area.
  • STRO Application Checklist – To assist hosts in preparation for the STRO  license application period. The STRO application license period has not yet opened and is expected to open in Fall of 2022.
  • STRO Application Information Sheet – Includes detailed information on the application process.

Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) Certificate numbers and Rental Unit Business Tax (RUBT) account numbers will be required for STRO applications. If you do not know your TOT number or RUBT account number, that information can now be accessed through Open Data:
