The SDSTRA Code of Conduct obliges all short-term property hosts and operators to:

1. Accurately represent property conditions in advertisements, listings or any communication with guests.
2. Notify the direct neighbors or the owners association that the host is using the premises for short-term rental accommodation.
3. Give contact details of the host or an authorized representative and be contactable during ordinary hours as well as outside ordinary hours to deal with emergencies.
4. Take reasonable steps to address complaints made by guests, neighbors or neighborhood officials.
5. Hold valid liability insurance that covers liability for third party injuries at the host’s accommodations.
6. Provide guests with an electronic or hard copy of the Code and any other regulations that apply to their stay.
